Brake ?~@#$%!!

The easiest thing to do is check the level of the brake fluid. If it is the
same level it has been for months then the problem is in the master cylinder
(called 'bypassing'). If not, then check all the lines, wheel cylinders,
calipers, rubber hoses, and the master (the master can leak from chamber to
chamber or from chamber to outside into the booster). IF you can't see all
the brake lines (which I recommend following ALL of them to the part being
supplied with fluid) then find out where they go and check them. A
nortorious problem for VWs is leaky brake lines in the interior (some ran
through the interior leaving them vulnerable to leaky
windshields/sunroofs/etc and rusting the lines--ask me, c'mon ask me how I
know!!). HTH!!
