In the donor A1 GTI I had trouble with an air bubble,; the brakes would be fine until I needed then were upon they would disappear and need to be pumped up. During a tune up for a new to me car @ ND I mentioned it and they fixed it with a rake bleed. So, get a pressure bleeder (Dick Wong has one :) and some new fluid and redo before you replace. TBerk
