I would have to totally disagree with you.

The rotors on the market today are cast with the holes in them and not
drilled like they were years back when cracks were prevalent.
Stress cracks are a thing of the past for everything but the most abusive
applications.
If you drill holes in your OEM vented rotors you will more than likely see
cracks tho'.

Seems to me (no experience yet, only had the slotted on for 1 mo. now) that
the slotted would eat the pads quicker than the X-drilled.

X-drilled rotors are camphered so they wont eat the pads (as much).
Slotted have sharper edges on the slots than on the edges of the holes of
the X-drilled.
The only reason I have slotted on the car (I don't like em') is because they
were free and I am cash poor.
As soon as I can afford to they will come off and be replaced by the
Zimmerman X-drilled.

Anyone else help out here....Pro/Con.
