When I built my 2008cc 16v, I ran up against the same problem. I
ordered the proper stuff at the dealer, which was a huge mistake
because it ran me like $40+ for a tiny bottle of it.  Looks like
green locktite...the engine shop guys had never seen anything like it,
and joked about how one of the guys there would probably taste it
because it was a new/different engine locking compound...his mom must
be very proud.

Anyway, if it were my engine, I'd fix it.  Engine vibrations can
loosen some amazing things...I've experienced this first hand
several times on my motor already.  Having those pieces of metal
get loose inside the motor like that could be quite devastating. Is
it worth the risk?
