I think the usual sign that the resistor pack is bad, as opposed to
something else, is that the fan only works on the highest speed setting.
Replacing this resistor takes about 5 seconds - it just sits in its
bracket, right in front of the motor, and can just be sort of pulled out.
Theres a good pic of this in the Bentley manual.
