suspension update, and an alternator light Q

The alternator light will glow when there is resistance between the
red alternator wires and the main cable (at the battery).  Wire
brush/sand/clean all the wires attached to the battery, apply
di-electric grease, and reassemble...  This has worked for me many
times...
