Let's start a retrospective thread

Don't over look the H&R coilovers.I just installed a set and am very
happy with the ride and feel of the car after a 1000 mile shake down.I took
off stock struts with the H&R sports. The shaft size is not that important to
me.I have no plans for competition and I am not a very aggressive drive. If
you are driving hard enough to bend the shafts on cornering you probably are
out of control anyway.
That's my .02
Dan,I'm working on the MS Data log.I'll be in touch when I know a little
more about MS versions and stuff. I was sent and extra processor and have no
Idea what it is or what it is for.
I am in the middle of a major Honey do project and have little time for car
right now. I burnt my time with the suspension and brake project. So now I
must do the house stuff.

Yes, the Bilstein sports that I've seen have shaft that is virtually the
diameter of the shock body.
Very stiff in bending and there is no way you could use the stock bump stop.
Measurements to follow I hope.

I beleive the instructions for the sports said to not use a bump stop
because they have internal bump stops. The sports also have a very large
diameter piston shaft which I heard lessen the chance of it bending under
sharp cornering.

So basically the strut has got to be shorter or the top of the strut
needs
    to mount higher up.
Or perhaps you dispense with the stock bump stop, revise the strut
design so
the stop is internal and the strut is effectively shorter. I'm hoping
that
    is what Bilstein has done.
