Let's start a retrospective thread



Yes, the Bilstein sports that I've seen have shaft that is virtually the diameter of the shock body.
Very stiff in bending and there is no way you could use the stock bump stop.
Measurements to follow I hope.

  I beleive the instructions for the sports said to not use a bump stop because they have internal bump stops.  The sports also have a very large diameter piston shaft which I heard lessen the chance of it bending under sharp cornering.

    Or perhaps you dispense with the stock bump stop, revise the strut design so
    the stop is internal and the strut is effectively shorter. I'm hoping that 
    is what Bilstein has done.
