What type refrigerant came on our cars? I too want my AC back

I just wish our cars had a better fan. My passat will rearrange your hairdo with the fan set to 4, but my scirocco just kinda drools some air out. Anybody do any better here? I've been thinking about scouting out a separate fan assembly to put who knows where - maybe under the recirc vent at the passenger's feet?

and
convert to all R134a.
I am not a AC man but I do work with AC freon recovery equipment and ask a
lot of questions from AC people.I have had people tell me that R134a does
not cool as well as R12 but that has not been my experience. I flushed and
changed to R134 and I can not tell any diffrence. This was done on a 90
Nissan pick up and I have not had any problems with any of the components.I
am not advocating this procedure. It was done as a cheap fix and I have been
using it for about 4 years with no
problems.
It all may blow up tomorrow but so far so good.It is not a daily driver so
that may be a factor.
There are some other subs but these seem to be the main ones.
Good luck,

ole blue
----- Original Message -----
From: <gforbess@attglobal.net>
To: <smithma7@gmail.com>; <neptunonc@yahoo.com>; <scirocco-l@scirocco.org>
Sent: Wednesday, July 12, 2006 3:05 PM
Subject: Re: What type refrigerant came on our
