front cross member bar - ripoff?

Am I right in assuming that this is the weak point everyone talks about when you get an A1 chassis up over 200hp? I'm about to get started on my Rocco Racer project and I need to do some research into how the motor mounts hold up under that kind of stress. I've got my PL motor and 2Y tranny sitting on the ground in front of the car, I need to pull the wiring harness out of the GTI but I haven't figured out how I'm going to plug the Digi 2 into this motor yet. Also I haven't even started ripping this 8V motor out of the car. Anyone need an FN tranny in really good shape? I'll ask again once I get it out. The thing I need to know is do I need to do some creative welding to strengthen the other motor mounts or will this Black Forest beam solve most of those problems?

My son and I are working on a design for his. It will use the same principle but be a bit different.

Yep, that was me...honestly, its not like I patented it or anything, and I
quit making them some time ago.

This bar does most closely resemble my design, looks like it would do the
    job!
