Motor Mounts - Which to use

Yes, the stock diesel mounts are stiffer, than the TT HD mount.
The diesel mounts have about the same hardness as a 16V Scirocco pass.
mount.

I use and recommend the TT rear race mount, aka VW Motorsport, and it works
great with the front race mount, or urethane.

BTW, the rear urethane mounts self-destruct.

Subject: Motor Mounts - Which to use

I have decided that the new '81 is going to get the g60 I have sitting in
the back of the garage this Easter weekend.

So, if I am going to swap in the engine, I might as well replace all the
"consumable" parts now so I don't have to worry about them later.

I know there have been many discussions on motor mounts. So the question
is: Anyone have a definitive preference on motor mounts for an 8V?

1. Is there actually a difference between the "heavy duty" rubber side
mounts that came with the diesel engines, and the TT heavy duty mounts?

2. Is the TT rear tranny mount and front mount worth installing, or is
there a better option people like? I dislike polly tranny mounts, but I
might try a front poly mount.
