8v to 16v conversion how much work?

Jesus, you're cranky lately Larry!

** I know, I know... **

As far as doing it in a weekend, if you have a complete donor
Scirocco, I don't see why not!

** So you're going to swap engines (one person doing this, who ain't much on
projects himself anyway) without replacing all the motormounts? And the
axles? and while your in there, the wheel bearings/hubs? And clutch? And
changing gearbox oil? and new spark plugs, etc. etc.? Clutch cable? Shift
linkage bushings? whole exhaust? coolant hoses?
The list goes on and on....
It would take me 14 hours just to CLEAN UP all the pieces.

Then, how about disposing of the resulting junk 8v engine and 16V car??
No, the whole project will take weeks, not hours. This isn't an air filter
change-out. The planning itself will take days...

Nothing to fab. Biggest deal is the wiring and believe it or not the
harnesses can be removed, intact, from the car, so with some planning
it could be done.
