Injector questions(NOT A DEBATE!!!!) Nothing to do with size!lol

Kool......lol, ummm.... Yeah, the plastic tubes aren't in there, lol. I only
put the Brass seats in, then the injectors(C'mon Mark, you should remember
EVERY little detail about every engine you help build, lol very much
joking). We pulled the little caps off when we put the injectors back in
because one or two were missing them anyways. So all I need to do is cap off
the air shroud port.
So ..... yeah, where is it??(Is it the little black plastic thing that's on
the back of the head??)  lol  And could having it not capped off cause any
of my running issues(only runs like ass at start up for about a minute, and
only if the car has been off for more then 5 minutes or so but has run in
the past ~8 hours).
As it is, I'm thinking it's leaky injectors. The problem used to only happen
in cold weather, now it always happens.

My vote is "Yes"...  The 76-84 injectors are non-airshrouded, so if
you want to run them ditch the plastic tubey dealies , run the brass
seats, and cap off/plug the air shroud port.  The only other thing you
might want to do is pay attention to how the injectors sit in the
head.  Without the plastic tubey dealie to hold the bottom of the
injector in place any sideways force placed on the injector from the
fuel line (or whatever else) may cause the injector to sit crooked.
While not a big deal, I'd pop all the injectors in first, and then see
if you can manipulate the lines a bit to have the injectors sit as
close to perfect as possible.
