New rear stress bar

I agree. Any curves or changes in direction in the bar will allow flex in 
the support bar. Concider a chicken leg bone between your fingers. Squeeze 
and it will not bend. Now replace that bone with a wish bone and squeeze. It 
will flex.
All I can see it doing is reducing torsional distortion of the frame, that 
amount would be based on the rigidity of the metal, the mount points and any 
connections with in the system.

I bought a rear stress bar from Josh that bolts from rear tower to rear 
tower nad has an adjust ment for tension. I have not notice much of a 
difference, but then I don't drive like Anson  :)
