Ok.....here is my totally non-engineering backround laymen take on these bars. The bars on occasion have been known to fail and break. This says to me that they are absorbing enough forces to cause the bar to fatigue and that they do actually infact work. Brian 86 16v 98 Jetta GLX Vr6
