[SPAM] RE: Fuel tank leaking problem

Make sure you get a hold of VW north america and find out if the recall has
already been performed. As my 87 16v had the same problem and I had found
out that the recall had already been performed in 1993. The tank has again,
sprung a leak from the seam but since the recall was performed I am no
longer qualified for replacement....and thus now I must get another
tank...the seam is corroded to the point where I would not want to just
"fix" it...new tank= piece of mind....about $400 CDN for a new
replacement.... $1000+ CDN from the stealership.....and who knows from the
J-yard...do you really trust those used/refurbed tanks?? I dunno....
