Building plan for project 82

Couple thoughts:
1. If the paint is all done first, including the engine compartment, then as you go about all the
mechanical work you need to be really careful to not screw up the new paint.
2. If you're going to be doing any modifications that involve the chassis itself, stiffening or
cutting access holes, moving anything around the engine bay (expansion tank, fuel filter, installing
new brake lines), mounting new parts (intercooler, turbo, 02J tranny, cable shifter, hydraulic
clutch ;^) then you really want to get all that figured out before doing the paint and body work.
3. I kind of view the body work and paint as the big challenge. It's not that any particular part is
overwhelming, but the whole paint and body work project is a big one and takes a lot of time and
effort, whereas most of the mechanical stuff can be broken down into small independant tasks. Do
this little bit, stop, do that little bit.....
I like to get the big stuff out of the way first, just to make sure I have the motivation and
intestinal fortitude to do it! Then the rest is easy.

I'd do any body mods first, then the paint job, then the standard mechanical modifications.
But that's just me.
Dan
