Steering Rack compatability?

Hey list,
The steering rack on my 83 GTI is on its way out fast. I still have the rack
out of my 83 rocco and was wondering if it would fit and how hard it would
be to swap. Approx time estimates would eb good too as I want to possibly
get it done tonight.
