Subaru? Dead horse rides again!!!!

If you look at the grids at any autoX event you will see that just within
the last year or two they have come to be dominated by Scoobies. Why? Big
performance for the buck. Lot's of aftermarket bits to hot-rod them. And the
blessing of the company that it's OK to do this with their cars. Hell, they
have a whole catalog of bolt-ons you can buy through the dealership.

If I were inclined to buy new cars I would be hard pressed to justify
anything but a WRX, except for maybe a Neon ACR. Out of the box you can't
get much closer to a ringer than one of these two cars.

On the other hand, Subaru seems to have done almost too well at marketing
their performance image. Watching some of the message boards it seems they
have achieved M3 syndrome -- the car is so cool a bunch of pencil neck
dickheads snatched them all up and now give the enthusiasts who buy them a
bad name with their nancy-boy antics

But then what do I care, I'm holding out for an M Coupe...
