Sure it would. I have exchanged the A1 throttle on my car with the
slightly larger A2 unit.

 The Webber for sale mentions the adapter it comes with, this would bolt
up to the A1 or A2 intake as the bolt holes are in the same location. 
 
The real question is 'Is it worth it in the 1st place?"
