Re: Oil Light



Guys,

This isn't good. It has nothing to do with a short in your steering column,
it's your motor being starved of oil. You are probably a little low on oil
and when you corner hard (a right turn probably) the oil in your pan sloshes
so far over, that your oil pump is momentarily starved.

What to do about this? First and most important...check your oil level. If
it's low, top it off or do an oil change. Second, install a baffled oil pan
or a windage tray. I know that my 2.0 16V VW motor comes stock with on of
these, albeit a plastic clip-on variety, but it does the trick.
