Nope, 88 Carbios still had CIS.  Just is a JH with a hydrolic lifter head.

Digi didn't show up till 90 or so. (I know this, 88 Carbiolet motor in the
80 rocco and currently tearing apart the 91 Carbio with digi.  The
cabriolets with digi had a different engine code 2H or 2E something like
that)
