Re: Stainless Steel Exhaust System

I also used to own a, '82 MK2.  I got a 2 1/2" galvanized steel system from techtonics.  It lasted about 4 yr.. and rusted through.  I now have an '87 16V MK2.  I figure for the original system being 13-14 yr.. old.  Stainless Steel is definitely worth the extra money for having never to worry about it again.  Get the whole system.  Find an exhaust manifold from a MK2 16V, then get the race downpipe without the cat. converter.  I have my car set up like this now, and it's awesome.  There is so much more power without the cat.

Hi,
I am checking in from BC.  I am exploring the costs
and availability of installing a stainless steel
exhaust system on my '82 Mk.2 the next time that the
exhaust system needs replacing.  Has anyone who has
gone through this process be able to give warnings and
directions on the topic.
TIA

John
