Stainless Steel Exhaust System

Hi,
   I am checking in from BC.  I am exploring the costs
and availability of installing a stainless steel
exhaust system on my '82 Mk.2 the next time that the
exhaust system needs replacing.  Has anyone who has
gone through this process be able to give warnings and
directions on the topic.
