Noises under the hood can be deceiving. It could be a stuck lifter, (due
to some debris or a dying pump) an exhaust manifold leak, (look for
carbon on the head near the exhaust ports)or on the manifold itself a
flex pipe leak, (look for carbon on the fire wall)even a WATER PUMP
pulley (yes, these wear out and need replacing at times) Just a few
things to look at.
