Re: and now for the problem (long)
I'm with the Z on this one.
I had an 84 GTI that would give similar
symptoms.. replaced the iginition control module
and it would run beautifully.
although the module worked fine at idle and for
a short time.. after a while of running it would cause
all kinds of crazy things to happen.. in fact in its latter
days.. it would shut the car off completely until I pulled
over.. started it up and it would run. it was sooo random
I tested the module from the directions in the Bentley
and it tested bad bad bad.. replaced it and it ran great
after that.
