Carbs by themselves simply don't add power. They do, however tend to have
the ability to deliver more fuel than the stock CIST or CIST-E systems
can deliver. This is why the stock FIB systems get rated by some, at
180hp as a max output.

If you read SC mag, you see alot of articles on mobbed FIB systems
describing the replacement of stock injectors with (Example) 550cc
injectors. (As well as high flo fuel pumps ect...) 

On VW's its probably easier to just slap on a set of dual carbs than it
is to design your own FIB system. (Except for the Digifant equipped
cars.) With carbs there's no computer box or anything extra needed to
make it work. You just constantly tune the carbs (all-the-FN-time) where
as the FIB systems are self adjusting ect.
