Re: Cluster Lighting

1. Remove the steering wheel
2. Remove the underdash cover thingy that like goes around the pedal cluster... do
ya know what I'm talking about? It's in the way of reaching up under behind the
dash, which you will need to do.
3. Remove the little plastic trim that goes in front of the speedo housing. It's
held in by two phillips screws at an angle on the inner top if the trim.
4. Reach behind the instrument cluster from underneath and undo the two plastic
electrical connectors that plug into the instrument cluster. On the later style
ones, sometimes it's necessary to use a flatbladed screwdriver to pry the plastic
housing away from around the connectors so that you can get them out. Stare up there
with a flashlight for long enough and you'll see what I mean.
5. Still reaching up there in that uncomfortable position, disconnect the speedo
cable from behind the speedo. There's a little plastic release that you have to
squeeze on the speedo cable in order to pull it out.
6. Remove the one screw up at the top front of the instrument cluster, and then take
out the instrument cluster.

Then you'll see the lights. They're very small, and I believe there are three of
them. The just twist and pull out. IME, they cost $1 each. Good luck! Installation
is reverse of removal, really. Much easier going in than coming out, I think.
