205/60-13 will work just fine on a 5.5 - not optimum for the tire, IE, the
tire is not going to work as well as IT can, but the resulting combination
is better than a 185/60-13 on the 5.5. It might not be within the tire
manufacturer's "Recommended Rim Widths" page (most 205s call for 6" at
least), but any dealer that bases decisions strictly upon the "Recommended"
list should be avoided. If they can't figure out that a 205 will fit and
could be good on a 5.5" wheel, umm, morons? I know people using 225/50-14s
on 6" wheels, tons of 205/55-14 on 5.5" wheels, seen a 225/45-13 on a 6"
wheel. Yow. 205/60-13 on 5.5 is just fine, sure, the tire would be better
on a 6-7" wheel, but it's not unsafe, it'll work just fine. Hope this
helps!
