I can relate. What can one expect for $500. (Thats what I paid, look at
it now!)

Well, since the guys at the Neuspeed tent at the ND show at buttonwillow
a couple years ago were such assholes I ended up discovering Tim (Or was
it Michelle? Whatever.) and we discussed oil coolers for A/C Scirocco's.
What I origionally wanted was the GTi Thermostated oil cooler (For all of
its benefits, of course) and also to eliminate having to use a sandwich
plate with 2 oil lines running to a thermostate plate with 2 more lines
running off of that. I really didnt want all of that, I was looking for a
nice compact unit like the GTi oil cooler housing. Well, since that's a
bit out of my price range, I had to start looking at other options, like
maybe even running a cooler without a thermostat at all. The point was,
at the time, I really needed a cooler since my oil temps were at about
300 degrees at my last autox after my 3rd run.
F/F to Tim telling me that they have a Thermostated oil cooler sandwich
plate AND he could also make me up lines to be long enough to fit with my
A/C. The cooler is a 10 row and bolts to the core support. I really like
the whole system and my oil temps at my last autox (sunday) where we
raced in 97 deg heat was 220 max.
So, thats how I got mine and as far as I know, they're the only people
that make the cooler for our cars mit der A/C.

Instalation is easy. You remove the oil filter, mount in the plate and
run the lines to around the radiator/condenser. Find a nice place to
mount the cooler and drill 2 holes. It really doesnt take anytime at all
to install. Anyways, it comes with a nice instalation instruction sheet
with pictures! (How can you go wrong!) :-P

HTH!
