Beacon Rocc: scirocco.org PNW cruise Cincy weekend?

A couple of years back I was going up to Skamania lodge (
http://www.skamania.com/about-skamania.php) on SR14 with the family and
there was a small bridge ahead of us when I saw this large deer walk across
the road. It was getting dark but I saw it in plenty of time to slow down
as it walked across my lane into the other lane and then stopped. The poor
guy coming the other way apparently did not see the deer because he never
even started slowing down and wacked the hind end of her. The deer spun a
720 deg. and landed off the edge of the road. It tried to run but it's back
end was not working. It was pretty horiffic and I kept going to not scare
the kid or the wife. It is a very senic drive but need to do it during the
day when bambi is sleeping and passing is easier.
