ABA turbo question again

By my calculations the CR will be 7.9:1 with 16V head on either an ABA or 3A block with stock pistons.
A little low I'd think so the engine might seem a little doggy off boost. But, still a lot of people have done it.
Also, the 16V pistons have some valve clearance cutouts for the intake valves that the 8V pistons don't have. I haven't heard of anybody having to add the cutouts, but it's something to check.
Basically with the piston at TDC, the valves are pretty much closed, so maybe you don't need the clearance cutouts. Maybe VW added the cutouts so you could put the head on with the valves fully open and the piston at TDC and not bend anything?
I'd do a piston to valve clearance check before I'd commit to it, or find somebody that's done it and can verify they aren't needed.

You could probably turbo a 9A, but with its 10:1 or 10.5:1 or 10.8:1 (or whatever anybody claims!) you'd be limited to pretty low boost like 5 psi or so.

Subject: ABA turbo question again

Ok so I gotta ask this again because maybe I read it wrong earlier. If I use a ABA block n pistons or a 3A block n pistons with a 16V 1.8 head will I get a compression that is workable for a turbo? Would there be any other issues with this setup( head block piston combination?)?

Or do I need to look at WIseco low compression pistons? I was thinking that I would only need to lower the compression if I used a 9A which had 16v Pistons in it???

Thanks
David
