02A in A1 linkage - Attn: TDI swappers?

I think the thread on VWsport has more knowledge than I.
My post there (Carjack) only says that the differential housings are the same as far as bolt patterns and features that are commonly used to mount aftermarket brackets. i.e. my 02A brackets will bolt right up to an 02J.
As far as shift linkage and stuff, the thread has more info.
