stripped wiper shafts and solutions?

Phil,

When I bought my 87 I had the same problem. Being a cheap ass I tried the
easy way out and used an exacto knife to score the top of the shaft where
the knurling or ribbing used to be. I also did the same to the inside of
the wiper arm. I made little slits from the center outward. Worked fine. I
later installed a mono wiper that had the same issue and repeated this
procedure on it. I have had the mono wiper on for almost three years with
out one incident. Cheap ass way, but it worked.

HTH,

Dave

No man, I mean the stud on the shaft and the wiper
bushing itself are as smooth as a baby's ass, as my
father would put it. Ain't no more knurling to be
found *anywhere*.

S'ok - I am just gonna grab something off an old A2 in
my local yard. I believe it's all the same stuff.
