Track Day North and my weekend (blithery)

Well, my weekend has been pretty uninteresting from a Scirocco wrenching
perspective. Lately I've been trying to get my house to the point where I
don't come in from the garage and think that the garage is nicer. So I've
been painting. Anyway, as a break from that, we went to the "Performance
World " car show in Toronto. We've been before, and knew what to expect. As
a matter of fact, it was the same car show the "Gino gang" went to exactly
a year ago, after breaking down on the side of the QEW. Yep, the Gino saga
began a year ago, hard to believe.

Anyway, we always get the race schedules there, and I wanted to talk to the
CSCS guys, since they gave us a good deal on the road course last TDN.
Well, no booth, no signs of them, and the capper? No mention of CSCS in any
of the track schedules. So it looks like I don't have a drag race series to
race in. There's an Import race at the local track, June 4, seems to me I
have something else on that date, can't quite remember what it is. I'll
have to find an alternate evil activity to occupy my weekends,
muahahahaha.....

Anyway, to the point (finally). Looks like we have to arrange something on
our own. Give me dates that are good, and I'll see what's available. I have
REAL problems with giving these places significant money ahead of time,
especially Dunnville, as they're openly operating illegally, and don't
care. They're not local guys either. Cayuga's likely not going to vanish,
but we'd be SOL if the weather went bad, they'd keep the deposit. ( Note to
self: Tell Jim J. it's on a different date) But I'll phone about open track
days once you give me a ballpark month that's good, like May? July? August?
September? What works? And what sort of price would be acceptable for a day
of insanity on the circuit track? And interest in a dyno as well? I don't
see why we couldn't do both if there's interest.

For those not familiar with where I am, it's an hour on the Canada side of
Buffalo NY. And you can stay/wrench here, not a problem. I'm like five
minutes from either track.

We can keep this on list if you like, or take it off, let me know if it's
too much of bother, keep it here for a while perhaps?

Scirocco content: I finally locate the only Rocc in the car show, a '75
track vetran in wide slicks, tastefully removed headlights and grille, so
the ITBs could peek through, nice wide fenders, caged, the whole deal. So
of course I'm snapping pictures and notice a father-son pair also looking
it over. Turns out they're from a half hour from here, and the son has a
nice MkI, in green, a colour near and dear to my heart. Anyway, I gave him
the good word (www.scirocco.org), and also my number in case he ever wants
to sell it. Never hurts.

That's about it from here. LMK about track day, and please trim off my
blither in the reply eh?
