Pulling the tranny - '81 8V



I always left the bottom heavy bolt in as the last
fastener (but broken free) and then threaded that out
while the tranny was supported. 

Whatever - press up slightly and away from the engine
- get it off the pinion shaft and do not let it just
rest there if something is stuck.  Either all the way
on the engine or off.  You should not have to pry it
at all.

And yeah - there should not be leakage like that. 
You'll find the issue.  R&R all accessible seals in
the tranny and on the engine.  Pay for good stuff. 
One time is the key.
