My "scirocco" is missing...



The common denominator here seems to be the modified t-stats.   some of you 
have put very large holes in the t-stat for bleeding purposes...a 0.020" 
hole would be more than sufficient and have a much less pronounced effect on 
engine heat-up.   A 0.010" would be even better, but most of you would have 
difficulties drilling a hole that small.

First time I did anything with the cooling system in my 16V I drilled a 1/8" 
hole in the thermostat to aid filling the system.
Took FOREVER to get up to temp.
Got a new thermostat and drilled a measly 1/16" hole. Still takes longer to 
come up to temp than my 8V, but it's better.
The radiator is virtually dead weight it the winter so the extent to which 
it is being used when you don't want it to be.......
I'm thinking teeny-tiny hole in the thermostat.
