Pics of the scirocco and a question about a hose

I think you may have missed the radio, the boot around the shifter (can
bee seen on floor behind the center console) which I think may have
mold, either that or a lot of black stains on the inside, and what you
can't see in this pic is the damaged and molded driver seat belt, molded
pass seat belt, the stock speaker and cover for the driver side door is
in a box, and I don't know what is going on with the back end. Oh ya,
the dash is cracked, under the windshield. Big wide cracks. No amount of
plastic conditioner can save it. It needs plastic fill, or rope bridges.

I like the golf ball shift knob too, and the brown interior seems
natural for the car, I honestly can't picture it any other way. I got
lucky with the head liner. There is maybe one tear. Now that I have said
that I will go outside and find five.

I was told that the wheels are stock rabbit wheels with the covers by
the PO and that he was using them because he had some problem with the
other wheels which I think are stock scirocco wheels. I can't get a
picture of them because they are being stored at my grandparents. The
rusty ones look like spare tire wheels (I think) with... rust.

I checked the bently and had problems finding this bit. Is it part of
the egr system? I really have very little idea of what I am looking at.
I know the basics, starter, block, valves, distributer, that sort of
thing, but when you get into parts of the fuel system or exhaust system
I am still a neophyte. I could try and trace hoses and stuff, but I
wouldn't know what something is actually going to. What exactly would a
vacuum leak do?

I'm thinking I should just wait a few days until my parts list grows and
I should just drive up there to get a bunch of stuff. Do you have
seatbelts (all 4), spare radio, cv boots (my inner boots are torn, not
sure about outer), gear shift boot, and a decent front license plate
holder (I have clothes hanger)? I'm sure that come morning when I go
back out and do a "walk through" I can find a few more parts that I need.

> BTB. I like the metal work!

The sword has come some way since then but still isn't finished. I can't
find the time or inclination to do the slow and tedious sanding process.
I really want to get it done so that I can kill milk jugs and have
something to bring to sword gatherings (perhaps even cincy if I can make
it, assuming there is lodging available when I finally decide that I can
make it).

The guy in the blue sweatshirt is kinda... nuts isn't the right word, he
is definitely sane. He falls under the
barnyard-bladesmith-with-a-bit-of-mad-scientist-thrown-in, category.
Since this is completely off topic I will leave you wondering. If you're
curious e-mail me off list.

BTW, can anyone get a picture of the back end of a mk1 scirocco taken
from the front seat with the back seat taken out or folded down and with
the hatch closed. I would like to see if mine is actually complete or if
there is anything missing. Someone has got to have this picture on their
computer already.
