hello and 2 questions

so, what are the good brands for aftermarket parts? i don't really
want to get into high-performance just yet, but would like reliable,
strong components. for now, because of tight cash (buying the car),
i will probably have to do some manual tinkering to keep it happy.
(I have some experience with old vehicles - have a 79 vespa, which is
very often wanting to break).
