Pushing on the Clutch loads engine?

Seems unlikely since the load variation is so small just pushing in
the clutch, but it could be the tuning of the TEC II.
Just went through that this weekend on my nephew's car looking for a
stable idle. It's a little bit of a juggling act to get the ignition
and fuel tables relatively level with just enough tilt to accomdate
changes in RPM and load.
Sorry, not much help here.
