transaxle leak

You compress the drive flanges with the clamp or similar, remove the circlip, release the clamp, and off it comes. If it was more difficult than that, something is not quite right. It is a tight fit as it should be, but it should come. The spring behind the flange puts pressure on the circlip and locks it in place. It is pretty flimsy really, but that pressure behind the flange makes it solid.

Hope that helps, and hopefully I have not been too confusing..

How do you get the flange out after you remove the circlips? It is pressed on the splined gear. I had to hammer (rubber) them off my sons but that was when it was out of the car. IT was difficult would had been nicer to have like a gear puller or something.

There is a circlips that holds the flange onto the shaft. The clamp takes the pressure off of the flange (via spring in the tranny), and allows you to remove the circlip without loosing it...

Just research the Peloquin shim kit and you'll find a
