24 days, what are you doing?

I just rushed to order that metal cooling pipe we just discussed, as well as
all of the related hoses and some oem hose clamps (thanks David!!) and get
that bypass thingy together before the trip.

I'd like to replace the dashboard, but I don't know if I can make the time,
since the shed I'm building in my yard is more important. The shed will be
nice, as it'll free up garage space :-))

I changed out the fusebox and battery ground cable in an attempt to fix my
weird ignition problem (remember that one?) and I'm keeping an eye on that,
but it seems to have done the trick. I will likely crimp new ring terminals
on most of the grounds which are connected to the back of the head.

Misc items:
I want to replace the shortened shifter with an uncut one (I'm tall) and the
linkage is incorrectly adjusted (anyway), the PO replaced the timing belt
and now the belt & pulleys rub the metal backing plate (I hate when that
happens), so I want to fix that, I'm in the middle of refinishing a rear
spoiler with Fusion plastic paint and hope to get the squared away, have no
radio whatsoever (!!!), have not yet had the car inspected, want to change
the engine and trans oil, etc, etc. AND, I want to install/wire my euro
lights if they ever show up....

I've pushed the lower control arms/bushings/ball joints/tie rods/steering
rack busings/alignment project off 'till after the trip, but it would've
been nice to drive it after...

Compared to many of you, I have only a tiny amount of stress and panic, but
my nervousness level is high, as I don't really know this car and, since my
farthest trip so far has been about 25 miles round trip, Cincy is
intimidating. Hopefully, I'll be travelling with a Sciroccoposse :-)

I guess I should make sure my tent actually goes together.

Jim
