What is this item for?



The evaporator is like a little radiator of sorts.  It's a place for the
compressed refrigerant to expand or evaporate.....well, sort of boil,
actually....it's really cool while this is happening, which cools down the
air the your AC system blows through it...

...or sumptin' like that.
