Was SCCA Solo II now.. how do you read the results...

Thanks for the notice!

We had some...er..."issues" during the ProSolo on Sat/Sun. The cylinder head
decided to puke an intake valve seat above the #4 piston. Understandably, Greg
Olsen decided to drive something more reliable (a <GASP> Honda!), so the
"thanks Neal" really is more of a "thanks Chris"! But we managed to get the
head fixed by a very friendly machinist up the road, and the car ran great
through the Championship competition. Unfortunatly, the "other head" in the car
was a little low on compression for my runs, especially the 1st day, so I'll
have to settle for 20th. But it was good fun!

I had a bit of a rough week, and didn't drive so well. Katie, on the other
hand, did quite well, and picked up the slack for me. :)

Street Modified Ladies Drivers: 4 Trophies:2
T 1 91 Debbie Fessler 94 Honda Civic White Kumho 52.994(1) DNF 50.220
110.019
			Sylvania, OH Kumho Tires & JBRW 61.444(1) 59.799 65.112(2)
T 2 10 Katie Lacey 77 Volkswagen Scirocco Gold Hoosier 56.140(1)
56.360(2) 51.935 111.553
Apple Valley, MN Project No Cones 60.424 59.618 63.661(2) -1.534

The way you read the results (if the lines don't wrap...grr...) is as follows:

- The first three numbers in each row are the times for each run. The top row
is the 1st day, and the bottom row is the 2nd day. A number in parenthesis is
the number of cone penalties which were included in the time. So Katie's first
run had 1 cone, which means here RAW time was a 54.140 + 2.000 penalty for the
cone.

- The last number on the top row is your score, calculated by adding together
your best times from each day (51.935 + 59.618 for Katie).

- The last number on the bottom row is the differential between yourself and
the driver above you. Katie was 1.534sec slower than Debbie.

AFAIK, she had the highest-placing VW at the event! She got lucky and had rain
for the 2nd day. The car just seems to love the rain, and she had the fastest
2nd day time in her class, bumping her up to a solid 2nd place! I was really
looking forward to making up for my bad 1st day performance, but the course was
dry by the time my class ran.

Doug Tulie and Ian Overholt both did very well for their first trip to
nationals in FSP too! And if you haven't seen it before, oh-my-gawd is that car
ludicrously clean. I wonder if Doug would go faster if he wasn't as worried
about cone marks on that shimmering paint. :) It was a pleasure to finally meet
you guys, and thanks to all the VW people from FSP (most not on this list
AFAIK) for all the help and support when our car broke.
