Problem for you electrical types...

Ref:  16v MkII.

  Passenger side power window only went "down" intermittantly for a few
days, then stopped completely.  Goes 'up' fine, using either switch (d-side
or p-side), but won't go down using either switch.
  Two leads going to p-side motor.  Disconnecting these leads from the
switch and connecting to 12v battery will run the motor/window up and down
with alacrity, so the motor is good.  Putting a VOA meter on the switch side
of these two leads show +12.4vdc or -12.4vdc, depending on position of the
switch.  I thought the p-side switch may have too high internal resistance,
thereby keeping proper amperage from flowing through from either switch, so
I bought a new switch and installed it.  Everything still the same.... :(
  Ignoring the $60 switch that didn't cure the problem, this is getting to
me...
This is the only thing on the car that doesn't work and
I...can't...stand...it.
  Any suggestions from you guys??
