Umm...is this thing on?

well, here is my .02$... on my 1989 Golf GTI, i had
the heater core replaced by a mechanic in italy, and
if i had not visited him and watched him i would not
have believed it.. he had the entire dash removed.. i
could see from the front seat into the engine, through
the holes in the fire wall.  it was very
disconcerting.  he said that was the only way to
access the heater core.  while you're in there, use
lots of armour all on the hard to reach crevaces of
the dash, heehee.  good luck!!!  lars
