Just to clarify here - this engine is NOT EDC (electronic diesel
control) equipped (like the TDI is)  I use the term "map" in the loose
sense - it's defined solely by base ignition timing and fuel distributor
characteristics, as well as injector breakpoint and nozzle
configuration.  The AAZ does have a control circuit to back off
injection timing at no/part load to reduce NOX, but it is controlled by
a changeover valve, not a "smart" ecm.
