uh oh: tranny? WAS:worrisome new noise=wheel bearings?



It does sound like the SMS that these trannys are known for...  When mine 
went, I could step on the throttle, and the car would jerk to one side or the 
other (can't recall which way)...

  What if you remove the axles and see if the crunching goes away when you 
turn the wheel by hand?
