Tranny interchange

Look on your tranny and get the code off the bell housing from underneath the 
car...  Then look on Scirocco.org for a chart of the different ratios 
depending on what code it is (IIRC there is a chart there somewhere)...  Many 
things will work, depending on what you demands are for gearing...
