Removing those plastic rings around the seat headrest posts?

Your choices are:

A. Don't remove them, you can do all your upholstery work, including removal and install, with
those in place,

B. Reach up inside and compress the 3 or 4 little tangs all at once and slide them out. These
dudes are about 6" long. I used a baster tube to slip over the inside end - it just happened to
be the right size. It's a grand PITA. After all this, I had pretty beat up hands - and they're
ugly on a good day. Also, I thenceforth switched to method A, above, with wunnerfull results.
